The Challenge / Problem

The Foster family was tired of the dull cabinet color in their new home and wanted a brighter, fresher look. As returning customers, they trusted HBP Painting Contractors to handle the cabinet remodel with care, clean prep, and a durable finish that would improve the overall feel of the space.

The Solution / Approach

To create a smooth, bright, and long-lasting cabinet finish, our team followed a detailed cabinet refinishing process from prep through reinstallation.

Scope of Work:

  • Removed hardware, doors, and drawers
  • Protected surrounding areas with plastic, paper, and tape as needed
  • Cleaned surfaces with TSP/Paseo to reduce sheen, grease, oils, and buildup
  • Scuff sanded and wiped surfaces clean
  • Applied 1 coat of oil/shellac-based primer
  • Scuff sanded again and wiped clean
  • Applied 2 coats of lacquer/urethane finish paint
  • Reinstalled original hardware, doors, and drawers
  • Installed clear rubber bumpers on all doors and drawers

Our team used a quick-shot sprayer to help speed up the project while still delivering a clean, professional cabinet finish.

Results / Outcome

The finished cabinets gave the home a brighter, cleaner, and more updated look. The Foster family was satisfied with the results, and their continued trust in HBP led to another active project with our team.
