Our Cabinet Painting Process
To begin, we’ll remove all cabinet doors, drawers, drawer fronts and hardware. We’ll then clean all surfaces with TSP/Paseo to reduce the sheen and eliminate any grease, food, and oil residue using steel wool to help maximize the results.
Keeping your home clean from accidental spills will be a priority. We’ll protect all the areas we’re not painting by covering and securing ceilings, walls, floors, countertops, and all furnishings with drop cloths, plastic, paper, and tape.
Depending on the condition of your cabinets, we use Lacquer paint which is the hardest drying paint on the market, or Urethane, another tremendous and durable paint, to bring your cabinets to life, making them beautiful.
Upon project completion, we’ll re-install all the original hardware, handles, pulls, wood doors, and drawers. We’ll also provide and apply all-new clear rubber bumpers on the inside doors/drawers before we walk through the completed project for your approval.
Sher-Wood® by Sherwin-Williams

Sher-Wood® Vinyl Primer Surfacer
We believe that Sherwin-Williams is the best paint for all interior painting projects, cabinets included. We first use a white vinyl lacquer by Sherwin-Williams for the priming and surface coatings.
Sher-Wood® Vinyl Primer Surfacer is a white vinyl lacquer designed as a priming and surfacing coating for interior wood applications. P65W4 offers better moisture resistance than conventional nitrocellulose-type wood primers.
Sher-Wood® Catalyzed Lacquer (Precat)
Once the Primer Surfacer is property applied, we apply Sher-Wood® Catalyzed Lacquer (Precat), a fast-drying, high-performance conversion lacquer.
